Letter of Credit
Secure international and domestic trade transactions with bank-backed payment assurance.
What Is Letter of Credit?
A Letter of Credit (LC) is frequently used in international transactions to assure that payment will be received. While similar to a Bank Guarantee, an LC differs in the bank's position relative to the buyer and seller in the event of default.
LCs are widely used in trade financing when suppliers or vendors deal with overseas customers without an established business relationship — the bank ensures the supplier is paid only once shipment is confirmed.
